John E. Timmer was born on November 6, 1939 in Shepard, Michigan, the son of the late Andrew M. and Josephine (Haney) Timmer, and passed away April 16, 2016 at the age of 76. John was a man with a golden heart. He put people first and was selfless. John had a great sense of humor and a wonderful smile. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Timmer; and one sister, Paulette Pina. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Loomis and Sherry (David) Western and one son, John M. Timmer; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Eugene (Pauline) Timmer and Hurbert (Sharon) Timmer; two sisters, Jo Ridge and Joyce DeClereq. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family is being served by the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
