Karlton Lavar Stitt sadly passed away Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, at his residence in Lansing, MI. At the age of 45 years old. Karlton was born, October 5th, 1978, to Mr. Tony Lewis Stitt and Mrs. Rosie Mary Stitt in Prescott, Arkansas. Karlton then moved to Lansing at a young age and has been a resident for 43 years.
Karlton attended Robinson Memorial Church of God in Christ where he was a very important member of the Buds of Promise, Sunshine Band, The Totally Dedicated, and The Inspirational Praise Choir.
He was then a high school graduate of J.W. Sexton high school class of 96. Karlton then jumped off into the workforce with an amazing drive and work ethic to go above and beyond. He walked into Pratt Whitney and started performing tedious rework on Aircraft engines, even traveled the world performing rework on Army and Navy bases. In his most recent years, he worked as a Chemical Mill Operator at Orchid Orthopedic solution. What this job and every job in between have in common is Karlton “grinding” to setting his own personal bar higher and higher. Karlton’s main hobbies and interest include playing basketball and being there for his children’s sporting events and other activities.
Karlton was extremely funny and wise. Always looking to uplift those around him both strangers and friends. Karlton was very loving and caring always finding a way to help somebody out. On top of all he was dependable and loyal. Gifted was an understatement, he had a way to always know what to say. Rather you wanted to hear it or not, it was what you needed to hear. Even if it took time for you to understand it.
Karltons loved ones left with his memories and legacy to uphold are his daughters, Lauren Stitt, Kya Stitt, Kasani Stitt, Mia Stitt and Rosie Mary Stitt. Granddaughter Hazel Niblock. Sister Twaila Black (Jason), Brother Jabralon Stitt, Brother Calvin Willis, Sister Tanisha Gilmore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that were more like his brothers. He was proceeded in death by, his son Davyon Rose, Brother Anthony Stitt, and parents Tony Stitt and Rosie Mary Stitt.
A visitation for Karlton will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral homes, 900 East Michigan Ave, Lansing MI 48912. A funeral service will occur Friday January 12, 2024, at 12:00pm at New Beginnings Outreach 700 W Mount Hope Ave. Lansing, MI 48910, with a brief visitation 15 minutes prior. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, following the service at the cemetery there will be a repass at the local UAW 450 Clare Street 48917.
