Our deepest condolences to Lanny's family. My wife and I were acquainted with Lanny as co-workers during our time working at the Meijer Mason store. He was always friendly and outgoing, with a "How're you doing?" in passing, and an occasional funny joke or story to tell when time allowed. After our retirement, on the days our shopping trips and his work shifts coincided, he always went out of his way to greet us in the same manner, "How're you doing?" and adding "How is retirement?" I am sorry that he will not be able answer that question from others himself. He will be missed not only by family and close friends, but also the people he worked with, for, and provided service to, and we will think of him every visit to the store when we'll miss his greeting.

After my nephew Lanny was born in Richmond, VA,  I babysat for him when his mother ran errands. Soon he and his mother, my sister Jean, moved elsewhere, and I didn't see him as often. I do remember some visits to our home in Richmond, VA, when Lanny was a cute toddler. After that, I saw Lanny mostly during my visits to Michigan. 
Lanny was quite a conversationalist. I remember one road trip riding in the car as the passenger with Lanny driving and discussing a myriad of topics. He had a calm, soothing manner and seemed to be able to talk with anyone about topics of interest to that person.
I will miss Lanny.  My husband John and I extend our love to his family and prayers for them.

I worked with Lanny at the mason Meijer.  I could count on Lanny to lift up your spirits. Somehow he just knew you what to say and the right time.  With a  simile, joke, kind words. Lanny was a great man. I miss him already. He will be missed at the store,  by coworkers and customers.

I worked with Lanny in Mason for many years. Lanny could always be counted on to make me smile. Even on the worst days. He always had a great story and some odd fact or statistic to make you think. Lanny was a hard worker with a gift of the gab. He was a great salesman at our counter and knew a lot of our customers. 
He will be sadly missed by many in the Meijer family. 

RIP Lanny and sympathy to your family. 

I worked with Lanny at the Mason Meijer and he was always so nice to me.  Everyday that I saw him I knew exactly what he was gonna say “ hey kiddo  how ya doing? “. I am really gonna miss seeing him. I pray that God will comfort his family during their time of sorrow.
