

Leslie Anne Athy (Goff) age 60, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday October 8, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born August 23, 1962 in Lansing to Gerald and Leda (Brasseur) Goff. Leslie graduated from Eastern High School in 1980. On April 20, 1985 she married the love of her life Robert Athy in Lansing. She enjoyed working with children and worked as a parapro for Laingsburg Community Schools for 14 years. She then went on to work for General Motors for 6 years until she retired in 2014.
Leslie loved going up to the family cabin that her and her devoted husband built in Cadillac, MI; it was her happy place. She also enjoyed traveling the country and went on many cross country trips. She also enjoyed spending time in Flagler Beach and Siesta Key Florida. She enjoyed taking her five grandchildren on special trips, going to the movies, watching their sporting events, sleep overs, swimming, and tea parties. Her favorite family trip was going to Disney World in 2021. Leslie enjoyed taking trips with her daughters and girlfriends. She cherished the time she spent with her best friends Jamie Schroeder, Pam Schaffer, and Deb Tullar.
Although her time here with us was shorter than we wanted she lived and loved to the fullest. She was a friend to everyone she met.
Leslie is survived by her loving husband Robert of 37 years, daughters Allison (Mike) Liebengood and Lindsey (Adam) Castillo, father Gerald Goff Sr.,mother-in-law Helen Athy, brother Jerry (Kellee) Goff, brother-in-laws Brian (Peg) Athy, Rick (Debbie) Athy, sister-in-laws Pam Hackney, and Teresa (Edwin) Spencer and special family friends Doug and Diane Burke. Her grandchildren, who she loved with her whole heart, Brayden and Connor Liebengood, Zander, Leighton and Ledger Castillo. She is also survived and loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother Leda Goff, father-in-law Mailand Athy, and brother-in-law Douglas Athy.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at 11:00AM at South Lansing Christian Church, 6300 N Aurelius Road Lansing, MI 48911, with visitation starting an hour prior at 10:00AM.
