Linda L. (Henderson) (Campau) (Bachtel) Chaney, 64, of Marshall lost her courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, March 31, 2012 while under the loving care of her family at the Eaton Community Hospice Center in Charlotte.
Born on April 14, 1947 to Charles and Arlene Henderson of Lansing, she graduated from Eastern High School in 1965. She is survived by her mother, Arlene Henderson Carey of Lansing; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Annette Campau of Marshall; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Judy Campau of Layton, UT; grand-daughters, Emily, Alex, and Madison Campau; and grandson, Andrew, Campau. Linda also leaves her sister, Jackie (Roy) Lovaas of Dimondale; brother, Charles (Linda) Henderson of Jacksonville, FL; many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, Godchildren, and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Charles Henderson; and grandson, Jared Campau.
Linda loved working with children. For many years she was a childcare provider in her Lansing home. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her ?daycare kids,? and remained close with their families. After moving to Marshall, she worked as a childcare aide in the Shamrock Center at Marshall Public Schools. ?Miss Linda? enjoyed creating fun activities that encouraged imagination and play. She cherished the love and support of the many friends she made while working there.
On May 6, 2011, she married Terry Chaney of Charlotte. Terry was a great source of strength and comfort, and she enjoyed spending time with his children, Heather and Michelle, and their families.
Visitation will be held at Tiffany Funeral Home in Lansing, Michigan on Friday, April 6th, from 2-8 PM and Saturday, April 7th, from 10-11 AM. A funeral service celebrating Linda?s life will be held at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, MI on Saturday, April 7th at 11:00 AM. Linda requests that people wear bright, joyful colors in celebration of her life. The family requests that memorial contributions in Linda?s honor be made to the Shamrock Center at Marshall Public Schools, The Fountain Clinic of Marshall, or the Eaton Community Hospice of Charlotte.
