Louise was born June 23, 1942, in Sturgis, Michigan to Bertha Emma Himebaugh and Kenneth Daniel Himebaugh. What she most spoke of growing up were fond memories on the Himebaugh family farm in Burr Oak, Michigan. She moved to Kalamazoo Michigan where, as a child, she learned to play tennis. Listening to her tell it, she was a good tennis player. When she was older, the family moved to Lansing where she graduated from Sexton High School. Louise’s parents and siblings preceded her, Kenneth, Bertha, Daniel, Raymond, and Linda.
Louise married Micheal E. Ross in her young adult life and produced four children, Glenn Michael Ross (Metta), Scott Kenneth Ross, Suzanne Louise Ross (Paul), and Neill George Ross (Lisa).
Louise is survived by her children, Sister in law Barb Himebaugh, Niece Jane Haga (Don), and Nephew Matt Himebaugh (Michelle).
Grandchildren: Christopher (Kattie), Jennifer (Saul), Ellysa (Veronica), Nicholas, Corbin, Devinn, Joseph, Tessa, and Tiffany.
Great grandchildren : Isaiah, Eli, Samantha, Ethan, Nolan, Emma, Laura, Jolyn, and Calhoun.
Former husband : J Orr.
Louise drove for the Lansing area transportation system, CATA, for 22 years. She made her mark as a reliable and admired bus driver by staff, coworkers, and thousands among the community that came to know her and love her smile & friendliness.
Louise and J enjoyed traveling together and for years would make their way to the annual National Quartet Conventions. Her last major trip was on an Alaskan Cruise.
Louise was many things to many people. She was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother, a great aunt, a coworker, a friend. She was all of these things and more. What Louise enjoyed most was the love of her family and understanding from her friends. She always pushed forward. She was strong beyond her physical strength. She pushed forward when others may have stepped aside. She refused to quit.
Some of her favorite things were camping, bowling, dancing, music, spending time with family and the holidays.
We are all saddened by the means of her death, suffering from dementia. She passed peacefully in her sleep, making her journey to be with the Lord.
