

Lynette Kay Massie, was born May 21, 1970 in Lansing, Michigan to Dennis Lee and Janet Ann (Firman) Massie and passed away on December 20, 2015 at the age of 45. She graduated from East Lansing High School and Lansing Community College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. Lynette won the Sarah Tarppoff Award. She loved unicorns, light houses, reading, enjoyed traveling/camping, writing poetry and was a private person. Her son Cole became her whole life. Lynette was preceded in death by father. Surviving to cherish her memory are her mother and step-father, Raymond and Janet Whittaker; son, Cole French; siblings, Paul (Cathy) Massie, Monique (Ken) Elliott, and Nicole Ophaug; step siblings, Laura (Loren) Adams, William (Betty Jo) Whittaker, Didi Wargo, Sharron Whittaker, and Jim (Leslie) Whittaker; friend, Shawn Folstad; and several nephews and nieces. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 East Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the funeral home. Rev. Linda Farmer-Lewis will be officiating. Graveside will be held at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1490 East Michigan Avenue, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
