Marelu A Dickerson at age 85, passed gently from this world into the welcoming arms of Jesus on January 27, 2016. She was born January 10, 1931 in Lansing MI, and graduated from JW Sexton HS in 1948. She was an extraordinary person who loved deeply and unconditionally, and was loved in return by all who knew her. Growing up across from the MI School for the Blind, she became an avid and compassionate volunteer for the blind community. She loved her children, church and country beyond measure. She loved painting ceramics, needle work, feeding the birds and squirrels, practicing memory games for Dr appointments, special gatherings with family & friends, and her beloved cat Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Keith Dickerson; her parents Malcom & Bea Broadhurst.

Surviving are her 4 children, Cindy (Randy) Block, Brian (MacKenzie) Dickerson, Kelley (Nick) Nelson, Kevin Dickerson, and 7 grandchildren Tony & Ben Nelson, Darika, Jade, Ava, Maya and Adam Dickerson (Kevin's brood).

The celebration of Marelu's life will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00AM at North Westminster Presbyterian Church, 743 N. Martin Luther King Blvd, Lansing, MI, with Rev. Timothy Chon officiating. The family will receive guests an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society or the Advent House Ministries in memory of Marelu. Arrangements by Tiffany Funeral Home.
