Marianne Lohman was born on December 7th, 1954 to John and Marilyn Lohman (Mateer) in Lansing, MI. Marianne graduated from Eastern High School in 1973 and went onto a secretarial and project management career, where she delighted her business partners and vendors alike with her no-non-sense attitude tempered with wit.
In 1981, Marianne met Christopher Darren Starnes and they were married from 1982 – 1986. In that time, Marianne and Chris had 2 children, Sarah Ann Henkel (Starnes) and Elisabeth “Beth” Walczak (Starnes).
In 2015, Marianne retired and spent her time candle making, embroidering, coloring mandalas, watching old westerns, and providing gut-busting laughter to her cherished sister, daughters, & son-in-law Chris with daily texts of jokes and cat memes. Marianne was a constant supply of love to her 5 grandchildren, Andrew Ivan Middendorff, Sylvia Faye Middendorff, Rosalie Grace Middendorff, Rowan Marcus Henkel & Rainer Luka Henkel. She will be remembered as an incredibly beautiful woman in spirit and body, as well as an artistic, sassy, witty, goofily playful sister, mother, and grandmother that was a never-ending stream of love and support. She continued to provide bountiful love and endless humor, cracking jokes and snuggling, up until the very end.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents John and Marilyn Lohman. She is survived by sister Susan McKeown (Lohman), brothers John and Tom Lohman, daughters Sarah & Beth, sons-in-law Michael Henkel & Chris Walczak, nephew Brian Fair, and beloved grandchildren listed above.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saved by Zade, a local feline rescue and resource center, as she was an avid cat lover and had adopted many fur babies over her years.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared below for the Webb family.
