The funeral mass and seeing the Poissons brought back many memories, but what I remember most about Mary was her beautiful smile and personality that lit up room. I knew Mary through my sister, Ginny. They were close friends at St. Mary's of Redford and shared many adventures together. Mary was always so kind of loving. I met Mary shortly after moving to Northville. She was a great friend, and made the difficult transition to a new high school so much easier. Mary always had good things to say about everyone. She was always there for you when you needed a friend, in good times and bad. Although we lost contact through the years, I have never forgotten her and the special times we shared. My prayers to her family.

We were privileged to know Mary when our children were in grade school at STA. Mary always welcomed any child and served the STA community with grace and dedication. She focused on family and community. Her cheerful smile and helping hands benefited everyone she met. Our condolences to her family and may she rest in peace.

Mary was my first babysitter for my son Joe when I had to return to work after maternity leave. She was on her summer break from MSU and showed so much love and devotion when watching him it made this new mother's transition back to work much easier. 

Mary as a sister in law was great. She stood up in my wedding, filled me in on lots of family stories, reminded Jerry what a great "catch"he made marrying me. We celebrated more holidays together over the years and lake time at the Northville Poisson compound watching our children delight in life. Mary, you will be missed. Rest in piece.

Mary was a friend I met in Northville. She had such a wonderful personality and was always nice. I am sad to have lost touch over the years and now to hear that she has passed. I hope she knows how many peoples lives she touched and how many loved her.

Mary's childhood home and mine met in the alley (St Mary's and Mansfield in Detroit). We moved to the area around 1967. I remember hot summers were we would spend entire days playing Risk, Monopoly, or 'I declare war' in our backyards with my sister, Kathy, and our other neighbor, Jeannie Walsh. We never knocked on each other's door . . . we would just stand outside and yell "Maaa-ry" or "Cin . . dy" in a sing-song voice and we'd pop outside. I was 10 years old when I met Mary. We both went to St. Mary's and then to Northville High when our parents moved there. Mary even dated my future husband, Brent, before I did. Mary was a special, loving, caring person who would give the clothes off her back to you if you needed it. She was always, always smiling and laughing. Many more memories have been drifting into my mind. Brent sends his condolences. We found a photo of Mary in front of our house back when we were in high school . . . wasn't she beautiful? I miss her already . . .

I was a classmate of Mary's at St. Mary's of Redford. And I think I can speak for others that we shared fond, powerful memories of our time hanging out in the basement of her home on St. Mary's street, and on the corner of St. Mary's and Acacia, playing CYO basketball in the old gym, and many other moments that revolved around our neighborhood and school. I worked with Mary at Murphy and The Bear Shop. Her love for children will be one of the things I remember most. She had such a love for and special way with kids. Her faith is another thing she was quick to share. When I was sick she was right there praying for me. She looked out for those less fortunate by cooking regularly for one of the local food ministries. She shared her love of God with many. I know you are with the Lord Mary. Until I join you I will miss our long talks! My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Mary and I were friends in high school and I always remember how she could make me laugh when we working at Burger Chef. RIP Mary.

Mary was one of the kindest parents I had the pleasure of knowing while working with youth in Haslett. Mary hosted hundreds of teens over Sam and Hannah's time in Campus Life. They could always count on a friendly smile and an awesome and unexpected snack to share with friends. I always knew that any teen walking into her house would feel the love of Christ through her graciousness. I think of Mary and her family often and miss them. May the peace of our Lord be with you all at this time.

Mary's lasting impression on me has to do with her love of children also. After the tragic death of her sister, Mary and I shared a private moment where she mentioned her sister's joy in the book Where the Red Fern Grows. Mary said it was a book her sister read to her students. Mary gave me a copy. To honor Mary and her sister I began reading the book to my students each year. I have to wait until the very end of the year when we are all totally comfortable with each other because even the tough guys cry.

So many fond memories of her laughter and her stories of the funny things her children did and the fun parties we would put together. Those are the memories I will always cherish.
