Maurice “Morey” Acker, 69, passed away November 20, 2014. He was born July 16, 1945 to Kenneth F. and Arlene E. (Dean) Acker in Lansing, Michigan. Morey graduated from Eastern High School in 1963. He enjoyed playing golf, cards and working in his yard. Morey was a music lover and a great fan of Elvis Presley. He and his wife, Denise, enjoyed visiting the casino in their spare time.
Morey was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Denise. Surviving to cherish his memory are sons, Scott Acker of Mason, Gary Acker of Lansing, and Michael (Shari) Acker; grandchildren, Ashley and Evan Acker; step-son, Matt Peterson of Chicago, IL; brothers, Vilo D. Acker of Lansing , Carl F. Acker of Holt; and aunt, Deanna Harkness of Lansing.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church of Lansing, 3827 Delta River Dr. Lansing, MI 48906, with visitation for friends one hour prior.
