

Melissa “Missie” A. Zimmerman, age 53, It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of our beloved Melissa "Missie" Zimmerman's passing on May 24, 2025. Melissa, fondly known as Missie, was born on December 22, 1971 to Benard G. and Darla R.(Simmons) Zimmerman.
She was a free spirit, a wild heart with a soft heart, but she possessed a sweet soul. Her legacy of generosity and kindness will forever shine in our hearts.
She was predeceased by her father, Bernie Zimmerman, and her grandparents, Viola “Vi” and Joe Simmons and Vernon and Lois Zimmerman.
Melissa leaves behind a grieving family that includes her Mom and Dad, Darla & Bob Lewis, her brothers, David (Casandra), Goins, Russell (Pene) Goins, Darren (Carmen) Lewis, and Robert (Mia) Lewis. Her memory will be cherished by her daughters and families, Senthia (Mills) & (Johnny) Edmiston, Cassidy Ford) & Austin Wampler, and Sydney Ford, and grandsons, Cody and Carsen Edmiston. Her Aunt Barb & Uncle Bob, Aunt Marge Reed, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as many friends.
Missie was renowned for her love of hair band rock and classic rock music. Her fondness for folk art added a unique layer to her vibrant personality. Her competitive spirit would come alive when betting against her Dad's favorite sports team KC Chiefs, eliciting laughter and fun-filled family time. Watching movies was her preferred way to unwind, and her affection for the color green was evident in her style.
Among her greatest accomplishments, Melissa counted her three daughters as the most precious. Passionate, caring, and always ready to lend a hand, Melissa's life was a testament to the power of love and family ties. Because Missie had such a generous heart she was an organ donor. In her passing many people will get a new lease on life.
