Merceda Jean Wright was born August 14, 1929 and passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Hazel Findley Country Manor in St. Johns, Michigan. She was born in Lansing, Michigan to William and Helen Enghoffer. She graduated from Lansing Eastern High School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Gottlieb Enghoffer and Helen E. Thomas; her loving husband that she was married to for over 60 years, Orval Calvin Wright; and son, Orval Calvin Wright Jr. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Elaine Patterson and Wilma Kathleen Henschell; and brothers, William Gerald Enghoffer and Fredrick Richard Enghoffer. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Ann Oversmith and loved by many nieces and nephews and her loyal dog, Amy.
Some of Merceda's favorite activities and past times include snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, target shooting, painting, coloring in her books, and playing marbles with her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Gladwin VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
She was employed for many years with Kresges and K-Mart in Lansing working many different jobs within the companies and worked very hard at her job.
Pallbearers include Ronald Adams, Jeffrey Lecato, Christopher Sikes, Sherri Lawrence, James Waters, and Steve Andre. Honorary Pallbearers are William Enghoffer and Danny Enghoffer.
A funeral service for Merceda will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing.
Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing.
