Of Lansing, MISurrounded by her loving family, Nancy L. Guthrie completed her gracious life among us on April 17, 2007. No longer suffering the painful effects of the cancer she battled so valiantly, our beloved Nancy now peacefully lives on in the presence of our Lord. No matter what problems she faced, she maintained her steadfast faith in God and always believed He would hold her in the palm of His hand. One of six daughters, Nancy was born to Charles and June (Harrington) Hiscock in Lansing, Michigan on January 31, 1937. After graduating from Sexton High School she entered the workforce as a secretary at General Motors. In 1967, she embarked upon a career in public service as a Legislative Assistant for the Michigan House of Representatives. She retired from the Legislature in 1992. Throughout her life, Nancy?s greatest joys were her family and friends. A thoughtful and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is survived by her devoted husband, Donald; treasured daughters, Marcie Whited (Robert Rios) and Laurie Manns (David Ostach); much loved step-daughters, Kami (Jim) Pasch and Kimberly Green; step-son, Kirk Guthrie; seven adored grandchildren; sisters, Suzanne (Monte) Ream, Sandra (Joseph) Stevens, Linda (Elden) Dickinson, Sally (Miles) Curtis and Jo Anne (Michael) Hall; sisters-in-law, Julie (George) Moberg, Sally Redfern and Marion Guthrie; numerous nieces and nephews and countless special friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law, Donna Mitchell and brother-in-law, Gary Guthrie. Though we deeply mourn her passing, we celebrate her life and are comforted by wonderful memories and the knowledge that Nancy enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved her church, the company of family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and always had great fun at the casino. She was always concerned for the well-being of others and her kindness and devotion touched many hearts. Our family wishes to extend special thanks to our amazing friends, Dr. Amy Bolmer, her staff, and the staff of Sparrow Hospice for their excellent care and support during the past months. Visitation will be 3-5pm and 6-8pm Friday, April 20, 2007 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing 48917. Funeral Services will be 11:00am Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Mt.
