Olga Shewchuk

Olga Shewchuk was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 17, 1919 the daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Dubowy) Shewchuk and passed away on August 15, 2013 at the age of 94. At age one her family moved to a farm in Covert, Michigan. She was Valedictorian of the Covert High School Class of 1937. She taught high school typing, shorthand, and business English in Bloomingdale, Zeeland, Dowagiac and Lansing. She was a member of the Michigan Education Association, and the Lansing Education Association. She taught herself how to play the piano. With few lessons from a music teacher, she performed in recitals during her high school years.

Preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Shewchuk; nephews Donald Seiler, and Kenneth Seiler. Surviving to

cherish her memory are sister, Julia Seiler; nephew Jerry (Beth) Seiler; two grandnieces, Jennifer Bruder and Gwendolyn Mills; and four great grandnephews. There will be no services. Those desiring may make contributions to Birches Adult Foster Care, 30895 King Rd., Leonidas, Michigan 49066.
