Patricia G. Stoye

Patricia Gay Stoye, born January 18, 1951 in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Ruth A. and the late Donald L. Rice, passed away January 1, 2014 at the age of 62. She was predeceased by her father and two brothers: Donald Robert Rice and Donald LeRoy Rice, II. Pat was employed by the American Board of Emergency Medicine, having worked there for nearly 30 years where colleagues benefited from her patience, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Pat was a very loving grandmother, mother, sister, and daughter and cherished her time with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carrie (Wesley) Swanson and Christine (Mike Ryan) Stoye; grandchildren Zachary Jones, PFC Jared Mulligan, Brandon Geiersbach, Wesley Swanson, and grandbaby Gavin Ryan; sisters Susan (Roger) Adsit and Ruth Ann Griffin; brother William Joseph (Amy) Rice; two aunts and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home 900 E. Michigan Ave., on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, and one hour prior to the service. The funeral will be at the funeral home on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM, with the Reverend Doctor William Beachy of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. The family wishes to express its thanks to Dr. Kaluza and her staff team, the staff at Clinton Memorial Hospital and Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for their care and support during Pat’s brief struggle with cancer.
