Paula Richel Nelson, 62, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Lansing, Michigan. She was born July 2, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harold E. and Patricia (Magill) Nelson, and when she was three years old, the family moved to Lansing, Michigan, where Paula would spend much of her life. She could often be found in her kitchen dancing to Mustang Sally or Creed while stirring a pot of white spaghetti for her family and anyone else who stopped by. She was always dancing, but when she stopped, it was usually because she was engrossed in another book - life often happened around whatever book she was reading at the time.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jasmine Joyner, Shannon Strang, and Nicklaus Strang; her grandchildren, Aria, Oliva, Maximus, Parker, Bryce, and Nicklaus; her sister, Leslie Harding; and her many dear friends.
No services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Paula's honor to the Greater Lansing Food Bank, PO Box 16224, Lansing, MI 48901.
