He was a military veteran of the Vietnam War and an honorable member of the 94th Field Artillery Regiment of the United States Army, specializing in hand-to-hand combat and artillery. Ramiro retired as a licensed master builder and was employed with General Motors with focus in skilled trades. He was an intellectual, well read. He was proud of his Aztec heritage and teachings. He enjoyed researching information as a paralegal of 20 years and took great pride in being a life-long learner.
After retirement, Ramiro was known for his signature casual attire, which consisted of a flannel shirt, blue jeans and a white Fruit-of-the-Loom t-shirt. He had a love for sweets (cookies and cake), pop with ice, and conversation. Ramiro was passionate about politics and world events. He took great pride in maintaining his lawn and landscaping, he especially loved to plant flowers for his “Hunny Bunny” wife Dorothy. Ramiro was a music vocalist that enjoyed playing a guitar. Most of all, he cherished interacting with Dorothy Cruz (Medrano) Rodriguez, his beloved wife of 50 years, their grandchildren and their adorable Chihuahuas.
Ramiro enriched his life with the teachings of the bible. He was the voice of reason, confidant, cheerleader, teacher, mentor, guide and inspiration for all to be the best in life, profession, community, family, business and spirituality. He represented the foundation of his home and true to definition; he bore the weight of his household. Ramiro understood that no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, so he ensured that his family accepted Jesus Christ into their lives for the most valuable foundation of all.
