Richard James

Richard passed away on October 7, 2012. He was born January 19, 1934 in Saginaw, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Grace Ott; birth mother, Ruth Boatman; and his daughter, Julie. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ott; son, David Ott of Hollywood, FL; brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Shirley Macomber of Peoria, AZ; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fern and Steve Pagano of Midland, MI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Maggie Moore of Saginaw, MI; sister-in-law, Terri Pagano and friend, David Stupnicki of Saginaw, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Richard owned and operated Reliable Construction Company in the Lansing area. Music was his passion, and he was a gifted jazz musician who shared his music with others throughout the area and across the nation. Funeral Mass is 2:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John P. Klein officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Deepdale Memorial Park.
