Born August 3, 1940 in Georgetown, Kentucky, the son of David and Loretta (Mason) McIntyre. Richard transitioned to his heavenly home on October 8, 2010 at the age of 70. Richard married Ella Louise Gilbert on March 21, 1964 in Georgetown, Kentucky. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years. Richard is also survived by his children: Natalie Wood McIntyre, Monica McIntyre, Mark Deronne McIntyre and Janene McIntyre. Six grandchildren: Justin, Jessica, Siera, Javier, Denee and Camryn. Siblings: Anna Williams, Alice Nichols, Wallace McIntyre, Marilyn Hawkins and Gloria (Harry) Harris, a very special cousin, Anna Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Richard proudly served our Country in the United States Air Force and worked for Fisher Body, a division of General Motors until his retirement. Richards's prize possessions were his love for Jesus Christ and his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friendly conversations with neighbors or passers-by and a little something to satisfy his sweet tooth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Loretta McIntyre and his eldest brother, Charles Anderson McIntyre. Richard was a faithful member of Mount Hope Church.
Richard's family will celebrate his life on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Mount Hope Church, 202 S. Creyts Road, Lansing, Michigan at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Bender will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at Gorsline Runciman, 900 E. Michigan, in Lansing from 6:00 p.m.– 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Red Cross, Armed Forces Emergency Services in memory of Richard David McIntyre.
