Robbe retired from the City of Lansing Parks and Rec in 2011 after 25 years of scorekeeping for softball and basketball. She attended Lansing Eastern before earning her GED.
Robbe was especially proud of her family and loved watching them play softball together and keeping score. She loved bowling in the Sweet 16 League with her husband and kids and tournaments with Myra. With her forever goal of bowling that 200 game or 500 series.
Her kind spirit was infectious and it did not take much to make her happy. A fun (or serious) game of cards or a night at bingo was never far away. Always including the famous Robbe Kniffen euchre hand and a bit of “trash talking”! Her eyes always lit up when asked to watch a MSU or Lions game with Dale.
You could always see her in a Cedar Point shirt from her annual trips with her kids and grandkids. She could not come home until she bought a shirt, hat and peanut butter fudge. The last trip being in 2019 with family traveling from afar to be there with her!
She enjoyed traveling with the family and didn’t even matter where. Constantly planning and excited for the adventure big or small, packing her suitcase at least 1 month in advance. She loved shopping with Stephanie and Sherry and if it included a garage sale she was completely satisfied. The longest garage sale on US12 to her was the ultimate!
Robbe was well respected and liked by the kids from the neighborhood who would always stop to say hello whenever and where ever they saw her.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Ronald “Boomer” Kniffen, Sr., and Mother Dorothy Patricia Kurtz.
Surviving are her children, Dale (Valerie), Ronald Jr., Myra; Grand Children, Derek of Grand Rapids, Stephanie Decator (Nick) of Holt, MI, Curtis of Longwood, FL, Kenny (Perry) of Lansing, MI and Cody Nash-Kniffen (Heidi) of Waldron IN; Great-grandchildren, Chloe (Decator), Liam and Kyson (Nash-Kniffen), and Nicholas (Decator); Sister Sherry Lozzi of Lansing MI; Brothers Mike Knipfer (Dawn) of Big Rapids MI and Rocky Knipfer of Oaklahoma City, Oaklahoma
