Lansing, MI
Age 93, our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on September 29, 2025. Born June 6, 1932, in Lansing, MI, the son of Charles and Josephine Abraham, Big B lived a long and full life rooted in family, hard work, and gratitude.
His strong work ethic began early. From ages 14 to 18, he worked at his family’s store, Abraham’s Grocery. At 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving two years as a Staff Sergeant in the mess hall, where he made great meals for his fellow soldiers. After returning home, Bob worked alongside his brother George at the Rendezvous Restaurant and Bar until 1957. He then spent 28 years with Spadafore Distributing as a proud Pabst Blue Ribbon truck driver and deliveryman, a job where he built lifelong friendships. From 1987 to 1995, he worked as a car salesman at Team One Chevrolet/Oldsmobile in Charlotte, MI. In addition, throughout his adult life, Bobby was a skilled entrepreneur, buying, selling, renovating, and managing rental houses.
Big B was a faithful man who rarely missed a Sunday at church and generously supported his parish. He loved tending to his yard, enjoyed lunches at numerous Lansing staples, and was known for his jokes and humor that brightened every room. Above all, he was a devoted family man, the rock and pillar of strength for his children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
He is survived by his six children: Greg, Chuck, Lori (Warren), Teresa, Faye (Ramon), and Amy; 14 grandchildren: Robert (Mary), Cody, Gregory, Rick (Janna), Ashley, Tony, Mercedes (Mike), Faris (Lisa), Allie (Kyle), Josephine, Mia, and Sam; 8 great-grandchildren including Ava, Isaac, and Joseph, with 3 more blessings on the way; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Richard “Dick” Abraham, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved him dearly.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marie; granddaughter, Fayrouz; his parents; and his five brothers John, George, Louie, Bud, and Eddie.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at St. Gerard Parish, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M.
