To the family of Mr. Robert Delaney. I send my condolences to you all. Mr. Delaney sound like he was a very good husband, father, grandfather and mostly brother. May you all receive the love and support that is greatly needed to endure such a great loss throughtout he days ahead as you throw your burden on our heavenly fther Jehovah and he will sustain you all.- Psalms 55:22.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bob's family. I will always remember the times we spent talking at the marina during the summer and the big smile he always had when I would see him. He will be missed by myself and many others who knew him.

Bob was the oldest of 4 boys in the Delaney family as we grew up on the South side of Chicago. He was the leader of the pack. He would show us the ropes as kids and knew how to climb trees, hide on the roof of the house so we couldn't find him and on occasion which became more frequent ,encourage young ladies to walk by the house and give him a big smile. Of course we were jealous. After high school, Bob went off to college in Quincy, Il. where he eventually met his first love, Jane who he married and started their family of 3 boys followed by 3 lovely girls. In between he moved to Lansing to join his father and younger brother, Joe, in the plumbing business. Jane always had the kids dressed to a tee, especially for the celebrated holiday periods. Also at Halloween time the kids were the most creative in their costumes. My time in Lansing was short because I moved to Cleveland to start my career. It was always fun to return to see how the children had grown and made their impact in school and other activities. With the children out of school Bob and Jane enjoyed their yachting activities at Lake Michigan. It was fun being there with them. There was a real void in Bob's life when Jane passed away. Sometime after he and Brenda paths crossed and they would reminisce about their neighborhood days with their children. They had a lot in common and decided to embrace what they shared in the past into a new life together. This was a wonderful match because they brought their challenges and turned them into a joyful and spiritual marriage right up to Bob's last day. They both loved each other in a special way which was so visible to us. With the love of Brenda Bob's life ended as it had begun, a love of a father and mother at birth blessed by God in Baptism and in death with the hands of God on him while his bride sat with him. Bob, you were a spark and a joy in life and a good example to all of us in death. May the angels carry you to your eternal reward of happiness in heaven forever.
