Robert Van Kirk, Sr., 90, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away May 22, 2014. Robert was born on November 18, 1923 in Perry, Michigan to the late Dewey and Geneva (Smith) Van Kirk. He enjoyed spending the winter months at his residence in Florida and his summers in Michigan. Robert also loved to work on crossword puzzles and to retrieve golf balls from water hazards.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Van Kirk; daughter, Sue Elkins; and brothers, Wayland and Frank Van Kirk. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sally (Gary “Zeke”) Conroy; son, Robert Van Kirk, Jr.; grandchildren, Stacy, Sara, Dana (Eric), Samantha, Travis, Ashley, Brad, Zac, and Marlana; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Patty Lovelace.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church, 14769 Wood St., Lansing, MI 48906. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service at the church and on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912.
