

of Williamston, MichiganRoger went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 29, 2007 surrounded by his family whom he greatly loved. He was born August 16, 1923 in Morgantown, West Virginia and was the son of Harold G. and Ada L. (Rogers) Vandervort. Roger was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired in October 1982 from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was a strong, loving family man. Surviving are his wife and sweetheart, Edie Belle (Goddard) Vandervort; son, David (Christine) Ball; daughters, Maribeth (Phil) Miller, Jane (Bruce) Stickle, Pam (Lonnie) Cox; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Robert) Galusha; brother, Harold (Phyllis) Vandervort. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann; daughter, Candy Ballard-Jones; granddaughter, Amy Hutchinson; sister, Mary Jo Jacquet. Visitation will be 2-4, 6-8PM Thursday, November 1, 2007 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw Hwy, Lansing 48917. Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Friday, November 2, 2007 at Life Christian Church, 2560 Eaton Rapids Road, Lansing 48911 with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor David Stephens will be officiating. Interment is Deepdale Memorial Park with Military Honors provided by Morley S. Oates VFW Post #701. Roger was treasured by his family and will be greatly missed.
