Ruth Eileen Renaud

Ruth Eileen Renaud, aged 95, passed away on September 19, 2024, in Meridian Township, MI. Born on February 2, 1929, in Union, Iowa, to Arthur and Cornelia Renaud, Ruth led a distinguished life marked by a profound commitment to education and community service.

Ruth pursued her passion for education at Northern Iowa University, where she completed her undergraduate studies. She furthered her education by earning a PhD from Michigan State University (MSU). Ruth dedicated over 30 years to MSU, where she served in various capacities within student affairs, including Associate Dean of Students and retiring as Assistant Vice President. Her contributions to the university have left an indelible mark on countless students and colleagues.

Ruth is survived by her nephews, Tom Nielsen (Kathy) and Terry Renaud; nieces, Karen Eppinger and Jody Swan; and friends Cindy Helman, Jackie Wilkes, and Mary Haas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jeanne Nielsen (Warren), and her brother Ray Renaud (Karla).

In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Ruth's legacy will continue through the R.E. Renaud Student Services Enrichment and Endowment Fund at Michigan State University. Contributions to honor her memory can be made to this fund. The family extends their gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice for their compassionate care.
