Ruth H. Strang

Our beloved mother was born June 22,1923 in Linton, Indiana. She passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the age of 88. Ruth graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing in 1941 and married Arnold Strang on June 22, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold of 65 years, her parents, grandparents and daughter Carol Lee Strang. Surviving are her daughters Sherry (David) Hanson, Kay (James) Harriott, and Candice (Mark) Hanson; 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson; sister-in-laws, Barbara (Gerald) Davis, Joyce Strang, and Margaret Strang; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that were very dear to her. Family and friends were very important to both Mom and Dad and they were both involved in the Lutheran Church all their married life in both Southgate and Lewiston. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice Foundation, 900 Cooper St., Jackson, MI 49202 in memory of Mrs. Strang.
