Born March 7, 1924, in Allegany, N.Y., was called home to be with his Lord on February 11, 2015. She came to Lansing with her husband Charles in 1952. She graduated from Buffalo State Teacher's College and taught for several years in Rochester, New York. She was very active and loved her churches, Christ Lutheran (Lansing) and St. John Lutheran (Allegany). During her years at Christ Lutheran she was instrumental in starting the soup kitchen, volunteered and helped with rummage sales, sauerkraut supper, bazaars, did visitations to shut-ins, taught Sunday School and Bethel Bible classes, was a deacon, President of the congregation and treasurer for the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She loved her family and life. Birdwatching with her sister-in-law Carolyn Wing and visiting all the U.S. Capitals with Charles was a joy for her. Golfing, bowling, reading and bridge clubs were enjoyments in her life.
Summer with her family in the Valley (her N.Y. state home) was the highlight of her year. Sitting on the porch, swimming in the pond and deer watching each evening, along with seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grands enjoy the N.Y. lIfe she loved so much.
The family would like to thank Dr. Fred Isaac for her healthcare, Dr. Batca and Sparrow Hospital nursing staff and all they did for us.
She was dearly loved by her family: 7 children, William Wing, Carolyn (James) Wesley, Thomas (Pamela) Wing, David (Suzanne) Wing, Steven Wing, Sue Wing, Kenneth (Tammy) Wing, and Kathryn (Timothy) Starr; 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
