

San Juanita “Jane” Martinez began her spiritual journey on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones in Lansing, Michigan. Jane began her life in Huntley, Wyoming on May 21, 1946 as she was born to her Father, Fortunato Mendiola, and Mother, Bartola Mendiola. At a young age, her family moved to Laredo, Texas. It was here, in her now home-town, that she met her life partner, Jose L. Martinez. They would share 63 years of marriage alongside each other. Together, they would move to Michigan and call Lansing their home.
Jane would work as Head of Housekeeping for Days Inn, where she would later retire from, and gained management skills that would be shaped to perfection and transferred over into her family-life as she became the Matriarch of our family. They had created a beautiful family and is leaving behind children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren; Jose L. Martinez Jr, Eloy Martinez, Mauricio Martinez, Erica Martinez, Nikole Martinez, Merisa Martinez, Shuree Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Branden Martinez, Mauricio Martinez II, Alicia Martinez, Mina Powell, Adriana Lee-Martinez, Alexandria Martinez, Aondrea Lee Jr, Vincent Powell IV, Andrew Terrazas, and newest additions Oliver Guevara and Opal Martinez. There are many extended relatives, being relatives through marriages, nephews, nieces, and cousins, that she had kept in contact with as well but there are too many to be named.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her siblings Frank, Juana, Benito, Pedro, Alicia, Manuel, and Angelita, her son Juan Carlos Martinez, along with her grandchildren Renee Martinez, Travis Martinez, and Joey Martinez. The family would like to invite visitors, both family and friends, to attend a Memorial Service that will be held Friday, November 24, at 10:30 a.m. in Cristo Rey Church and Hall located on 201 W. Miller Rd.
