From an early age, Shelby's adventurous spirit shone brightly. Often referred to as a "fish" for her love of swimming, she delighted in the simple joys of life, whether it was pestering her big brother, putting on dance performances with her sisters, or carrying around her beloved blankie. As she grew, these childhood delights evolved into a deep love for her family, which became the cornerstone of her life.
Shelby, also known as Peanut and Shelby Woo, was a dedicated clerk at Michigan State University, a role she aspired to for many years. Outside of work, she poured her heart into being a wonderful mother to her children, Sawyer and Kameron. She enjoyed every moment spent with them, sharing laughter, love, and unforgettable memories.
An avid Detroit Lions fan, Shelby wasn’t just a casual supporter; she passionately followed the team, sharing insights and predictions with enthusiasm that reflected her vibrant personality. Her kindness, generosity, and silliness made her not only a beloved daughter, sister, and friend but also a truly beautiful soul.
She is survived by her children, Sawyer and Kameron; her parents, Sheryl Mussell, Robert and Jill Ott; her boyfriend, Zack Pierce; her siblings, Nicholas (Chelsea) Ott, Brooke (Josh) Tennant, and Nicole (David) Riskey; her grandparents, Ellis Mussell and Linda Fillion; her nieces and nephews, Kylie and Brayden Ott, Karleigh and Lukas Tennant, and Tres and Stella Riskey; her aunts and uncles, Rick Mussell, Jackie Mussell, Chuck (Karen Bessette) Ott, Richard (Annette) Ott, Mary Schindewolf and Tina (Kevin) Brown; her cousins, Kaleb, Patrick, Logan, Chad, Richard, Rhiannon, Cheyenne and Vanessa; and her best friends, Tori, Abby and Jessica.
