Shirley graduated from Everett High School and furthered her education to become a licensed practical nurse. She devoted herself to Sparrow Hospital's neonatal and full term nurseries for nearly 30 years.
Above all, Shirley loved her family unconditionally, her husband William (Bill) E. Norton and children and put being a wife and mother at the center of her life. Everything she did, she did for them.
Shirley very much enjoyed her friends, playing bingo, traveling, movies, crochet, country music, singing and had a great love for all animals.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Mark A. Norton, Nancy A. Norton (Chris Scott), and William E. "Billy" Norton (Marty Norton); grandson, Scott Campbell; great-grandson, Michael Campbell; great-great-granddaughter, Emberlynn Campbell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by Bill, her parents Frank and Lola and her sister, Patricia McBride.
