He received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Design (BFA Industrial Design) from the University of Kansas in 1994. He married the love of his life, Cynthia Hill Peters, May 24, 1997. They were true soul mates from the very beginning after meeting at a
holiday party December 1995. Steve’s 2nd love in life came at age 37 when he met and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was never the same after that! His career moves in the thermoforming business took him to Alloyd in Dekalb, IL; Solo Cup in Chicago, IL; Fabrical in Portage, MI and finally to Lansing, MI where he worked the last 9 years at Dart Container. He was a talented photographer, lover of rock and roll music, handy man around the house & DIY fanatic, Kansas Jayhawk & KC Chiefs supporter, and an enthusiastic consumer of good Kansas City B-B-Q. He loved traveling with Cynthia throughout Michigan, Anna Maria Island/Marco Island, FL & back to Kansas to see family & friends. He also had a great sense of humor and was quite a prankster at times. Steve was a loyal and faithful husband who adored his wife and spoiled her every day of their life together. He was selfless when it came to Cynthia. Steve fought esophageal cancer with strength, fortitude & an ever positive attitude. His strong work ethic propelled him to work up to 2 weeks before joining his Creator in Heaven. He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia Sullivan of Lansing, MI, son Christopher Sullivan, his mother Eugenia Sullivan, and sister Bridget Loisel all of Seattle, WA, his step-daughters Kendall Johnson and husband Doug of Dallas, TX, Jennifer Wolff and husband Jason of Anthony, KS, two grandsons Mitchell and Will Johnson of Dallas, TX. His father, Elmer Sullivan passed away Thanksgiving 2013. In lieu of flowers, Steve requested scholarship donations to be sent “In Memory of Steve Sullivan” to his karate club owned by his brother in Christ, Mark McCloud: Okinawan Karate of Holt LLC, 2202 N. Cedar St, Holt, MI 48842, 517-369-5001. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912.
