Vincent Zea, a loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father in the early hours of July 27th, 2015. Vincent came over from Castellanetta, Italy at the age of fifteen. At the age of twenty-four, he married the absolute love of his life Frances Colizzi. He started working at Okemos Barber Shop in 1962 and retired after fifty years as owner and operator. Vincent is preceded in death by his parents, Nicola and Pasqua Zea and his brother, Paulo Zea. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-five years, Frances; brothers, Marco (Linda) Zea, Leonardo (Daniella) Zea, and Luciano Zea; sisters, Francesca (Vito) DeBiasse, and Lucia ((Pino) Lavernaro; in-laws, MaryAnne (Gary) Stowe and the late Sam (Beverly) Colizzi; children, Pattie Zea, Francie (Bobby) Davidson, Vince (Sherree) Zea, Tina (Kevin) Beachnau, and Amy ((Ben) Behnke; grandchildren, Lorenzo, Arianna, Francesco, Gino, Dominic, Leonardo, Antonio, Isabella, Vince, Kyle, and Nicholas; many nieces, nephews, and cousin in the US and Italy, and special mention to Gina (Paul) Gietek and children. He cherished his family more than anything in the world. He loved cooking, going to the ponies, playing poker, traveling to his home country of Italy, and spending time with his family, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events. He was the patriarch of his family and his legacy of selflessness and the ability to always put other first will forever live in our hearts.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 7, at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Fr. John Klein presiding. Gathering is from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Friday at church.
