

Age 87, died peacefully at Hospice House of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence on May 24, 2013. Born October 6, 1925 to Elmer and Gladys Kimball in Seymour, Wisconsin. William will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a Michigan State University Professor and Extension Specialist in community and organizational development, retiring after 39 years of service. He was passionate about historical preservation and involved in barn restoration locally and nationally.
He is survived by his significant other, Alice Robinson; daughters, Carol (Marvin) Dembinsky, Jane (Howard) Sontag and Patricia (Jeff) Hatfield; grandchildren, Garrick Mallory, Devin (Erin) Mallory, Bradley and Curtis Hatfield; sister, Phyllis (Lyle) Sconzert; sister-in-laws, Jeanette Kimball and Joan Kimball. Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 30, 2013, 3:00 pm, at Meridian Historical Village Chapel, 5151 Marsh Road, Okemos, MI. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI, also one hour prior to the service at the Meridian Historical Village Chapel.
