Age 91, passed away December 3, 2006 following a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on November 30, 1915 in Harrisburg, PA. After graduating from Chambersburg (PA) High School in 1933, he began his career in the printing industry. He married Margaret Louise Barnes in St. Thomas, PA, on August 8, 1936 - the couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this past summer. In 1947, Bill moved his family to Mason, MI, where he began working for the Ingham County News. In 1953 he founded Craft Printers in Lansing and retired from that business in November, 1980. Know to his family and friends as a very kind and gentle man, "Baca" Bill - as he was known to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren - was an avid Michigan State University sports fan. He loved to play golf and closely followed the progress of the Detroit Tigers and Atlanta Braves. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Sheaffer, and his sister, Kathryn Sheaffer. Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughter, Suzanne (Alan) Tomlinson of Lansing; son, William (Joan) of Gaylord; and grandchildren, Michael Tomlinson of Boston, MA; Charles Sheaffer and Karen (Brian) Hossink of Lansing; Dr. Kimberly (Glenn) Voisine of Charlotte, NC; David Sheaffer of Boston, MA; and fiver great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, December 10, 2006 in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. A special graveside service will be held in the Spring at the Presbyterian Church of the Falling Spring, Chambersburg, PA.
