Barbara was born in Mickey, TN, on October 1, 1947, to John and Dora Hawkins. She was raised in Franklin County, Alabama, alongside her eleven siblings, all of whom have since passed. Barbara is preceded in death by Tommy Heisler (deceased 1987) and Larry Vos (deceased 1997).
With a heart full of love, Barbara cherished her family and friends, embracing the joy of being surrounded by those she adored. Her love for her "Grandbabies" knew no bounds, and she was a constant source of laughter and light in their lives. Her bright blue eyes sparkled with warmth, and her wonderful smile could brighten even the darkest of days.
Barbara held various administrative positions before finding her calling in real estate in Anchorage, AK. She later retired from a fulfilling career with United Airlines (formerly Continental) as a decorated agent, where her kindness and humor left a lasting impression on all who met her. Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed traveling and relished the time spent with family, eagerly anticipating reunions and gatherings.
She had a particular obsession with Blake Shelton, having visited almost every Old Red restaurant in the U.S. and watched every episode of "The Voice." Her family often joked that she was Blake's biggest fan. She fully retired in Florida in 2015, dedicating her days to her grandchildren, visiting lifelong friends, and exploring new places whenever she could. A faithful servant of Jesus, she lived her life with compassion and grace.
Barbara is survived by her children, Stephen (Deysi) Heisler of Orlando, FL and Christopher Heisler of Wasilla, AK. She is also survived by and loved deeply by her biological grandchildren, Nicole (Ryan) Talbutt, Braden Heisler, Brianna Heisler (Clayton) Sowders, Christian (Ron) Sanderson, Cora (Tyler) Glorie, and Sonia and Tomas Heisler; four great-grandchildren (Kegan, Avery, Aiden, and Conor); and a host of nieces and nephews who brought her endless joy.
Barbara's spirit and love will forever shine through her family, and her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Barb Vos touched the lives of many and will always be remembered as a beloved Mother, Mimi, Aunt, and friend to everyone she encountered.
