Bernidine was involved in pageantry and volunteered in her children’s schools. She loved all animals and enjoyed dressing up. An excellent seamstress, she made many of her own formal gowns.
She enjoyed 1950s and 60s rock and roll dancing, especially the jitterbug. She was an avid bowler and liked roller skating. She also spent time helping her sons with car repairs and assisting her husband, Phil Sr., with yard work.
Bernidine enjoyed baking and cooking and was known in her family for her cheesecake made from a secret recipe. Her favorite color was purple, and she wore spring colors such as teal and pink well.
Family was central to her life. She is survived by her husband, Philip E. Plantz Sr.; her children, Randy Plantz and Philip Plantz II; her grandchildren, April Wood and Kayla Harper; and her great-grandchild, Brantley Wood.
A visitation will be held on February 7, 2026, from 1:00–2:00 p.m., with a service immediately following at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774. She will later be placed privately at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
