

65, of St. Petersburg, FL formerly of Miami, FL passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011. He spent 4 years in the Air Force and the rest of his adult life working with the Veterans Administration in Washington, D.C. and in St. Petersburg, FL. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Beverly (Bev), a son Charles, a daughter Tracy, three brothers and four grandchildren. Born and raised in Miami, Charles graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1963, the University of Maryland in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree and received his Masters of Business and Public Administration in 1980. After serving in the US Air Force he was hired by the Veterans Administration as a night administrator with the VA Hospital in Miami in 1968. He spent several years in Miami before being transferred to the Washington, D.C. area where he remained until finally settling in St. Petersburg in 1996. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0273 in Madeira Beach, FL. Upon his retirement from the VA in 2007 he spent a great deal of time mastering his culinary skills and became the great grill master that we all loved and will miss terribly. Charles was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother-in-law who cared for everyone. He gave his all to make sure that those whose lives he touched shared in his happiness and he always went out of his way to make sure others felt welcomed. Friends are calling on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 727-562-2080.
