Danny Joe Keegan

KEEGAN, Danny J. “Dan”, 77 of Seminole, FL passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Largo Medical Center. Dan was born on December 29, 1939 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Edward Marshall & Lanore (Frakes) Keegan. He graduated from Indiana State University with a teaching degree. Dan moved to this area in 1968 coming from Elkhart, Indiana. He taught at Seminole Middle School before his retirement in 1996. Dan had a love of Bluegrass music all his life and was a member of the Soggy Bottom Bluegrass Bunch playing a variety of musical instruments. He attended the Connect to Christ Church in Seminole. He was predeceased by his first wife Patricia E Keegan in 2004 along with two sisters Jerry Kesler and Patricia Keegan. Surviving is his wife Judy Keegan of Seminole, two sons Bruce A (Lori) Keegan of Seminole & Keith B (Nancy) Keegan of Largo, three step sons Eric (Brandy) Edelman of Linton, IN, Cory (Becca) Edelman of Center Point, IN & Christopher (Stephanie) Edelman of Terre Haute, IN, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers Ed (Regina) Keegan of Terre Haute, IN & Gary (Jane) Keegan of Sun City Center, FL and two sisters Carol (Stanley) Richard of Connersville, IN & Anita Garrison of Sun City Center, FL along with several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10:30am to 12 noon with A Celebration of Life Service at 12 noon at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, 727-562-2080. The family has requested that dress be casual in jeans. Cremation will then take place. An Inurnment will follow at a later date at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park.
