Born on July 26, 1941, in Anniston, Alabama, Dianna was the cherished daughter of Arcadia "Katye" Braun and John "Jack" A. Braun, Jr. She was raised with strong family values that she carried with her throughout her life.
A proud graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Dianna was a talented majorette—rising to the position of head majorette as early as her freshman year. On March 4, 1961, she married the love of her life, Waymond "Buddy" Whitehead. Together they shared 64 beautiful years of marriage, raising a close-knit family and providing a loving home to many animals over the years.
Dianna dedicated her life to her family as a homemaker. She was known for her incredible cooking and her commitment to family traditions, including her New Year’s Day meals of black-eyed peas and collard greens, and her beloved key lime pie.
She was a longtime member of Suncoast Community Church, where her faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. Dianna treasured time with her family, whether on beach trips, boating adventures, bowling leagues, camping under the stars, fishing, or enjoying simple movie nights with her daughters. Her love for her dogs, especially her beloved Bailey, was unwavering.
Dianna is survived by her devoted husband, Waymond "Buddy" Whitehead, and their dog Bailey; her loving children, Janet Hughes (Richard), Cheryl Anderson (Scott), and Curtis Whitehead (Michele); and her grandchildren, Robbie Stirling, Courtney Windham (Logan), Jordan Hughes, Nicholas Hughes (Rebecca), Austin Anderson, Jared Anderson, Coral Whitehead (Gangelo), and Justin Whitehead. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Landyn Windham, Grayson Horsey, Logan Hughes, Elijah Windham, Abigail Windham, Langston Whitehead, Giana McClendon, Cleo McClendon, Angela McClendon, and Mulan McClendon.
