Evelyn was born December 28, 1929 in Hawks Michigan and graduated from Posen High School from where she received the Mary Murphy Memorial Scholarship for student nurses. Evelyn graduated from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital School of Nursing on September 12, 1951. She took the opportunity to attend Anesthesiology school in 1956 at the Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital Dept. of Anesthesiology in Detroit Michigan. Evelyn graduated from the school of Anesthesiology in April 1958. After a short vacation to Boca Raton, Fl. Evelyn applied for and was accepted for a Nurse/Anesthetist position at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa in 1965. Evelyn was a practicing RN/CRNA for 25 years and retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital with devoted service to the Franciscan sisters in 1990.
Evelyn Paul traveled the world and set foot on every continent with the exception of Antarctica. She loved seeing the humbleness and generosity of native peoples the world over. Evelyn loved painting the pictures she took with her camera. She started in watercolors, graduated to oil painting and then to acrylics. Evelyn was the Secretary of the Shore Mariner Condominium Association for 8 years and worked on seven (7) different committees. With her laptop computer she wrote a two hundred page biography entitled: “Evidence of a Life Well Lived”.
She is survived by nephews Timothy and Kenneth, nieces Linda, Laurie and Kathleen and sister-in-law Kathleen and many friends. Funeral services will be held at St. Jerome’s Roman Catholic Church Chapel in Indian Rocks Beach on Wednesday November 17, 2021 at 10:30 AM.
