Gerry graduated from Pattonville high school and received a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Missouri at Rolla. He was married to Donna Rae Hubert Hutchins on April 14, 1973.
For 52 years, Gerry had a career in sailboat manufacturing for Hutchins Company Inc., Com Pac Yachts. He had a passion for family and sailing.
Gerry is survived by his wife Donna Rae Hubert Hutchins, his children; Leigh Anne Hutchins Chester, Matthew Gerald Hutchins, and Tyler Rae Hutchins, his grandchildren; Jackson Lee Gleaton, Grayson Hutchins Gleaton, Berkeley Tyler Hutchins, Benjamin William Chester and Lincoln Rae Hutchins and by his brother Richard Hutchins.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30 PM on March 22, 2025 at Mission city Church in Largo, Florida
