

Harry was born on January 20, 1928 in New Haven, Connecticut as the only child of Paul Schlenther and Emma Alleschefski.
He was educated in West Haven Connecticut’s schools, New Haven College, and the University of Bridgeport.
Harry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Service on his 18th birthday and served for 2 years, being awarded a medal for World War II Victory.
He was married to Shirley Ann Prunier from 1952 to 1975 (divorced).
He was married to Beverly Ann Palmer from 1976 to her death in 2010.
He had a friendship with Fern Clemmerson from 2014 to her death in 2022.
Harry had a wide-ranging career, founding businesses in a number of fields, including real estate and construction. He also served multiple terms as West Haven City Councilman.
Harry was a passionate patriot and a member of the American Legion. He was also an ardent Florida Gators Football fan.
He was predeceased by his daughter Jamie Lynn Schlenther (Wisel).
Harry is survived by two sons, Karl Schlenther (William Hargen) of Odessa, FL and Jon Schlenther of Pinellas Park, FL, two stepsons, Russell (Dorinda) Akers of Lake Butler, FL and Stewart Akers of Homosassa, FL, one stepdaughter, Susan Akers of Lake City, FL, 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
A two hour visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm, followed by services at 3:00 pm at Serenity Gardens in Largo, Florida.
