

Born on July 15, 1932 in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Gerald and Estelle (Ulrich) Spaulding. Helen is survived by her husband of 51 years, Dwight Lockwood; daughter, Lisa (Todd) Schupper, Goodyear, AZ; son, Timothy (Karla) Lockwood, Seminole, FL; three grandchildren, Zane and Jordan Lockwood and Remy Schupper; brother, Richard (Marie) Spaulding, Potomac, MD and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and Jerry Spaulding.
After graduation from Western Michigan University in 1954, she became a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. She worked for them for six years ending up in Washington, D.C as flight attendant supervisor. There she flew the White House charters carrying the press and secret service personnel following trips of President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Returning to Michigan to get married, she continued working as a flight attendant recruiter for Eastern Airlines for some time interviewing applicants at colleges around the state.
Moving to Florida in 1966, she and her husband later opened and operated a travel agency in Redington Shores for thirty five years. She was able to live her dream of traveling around the world.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
