McCONNELL, Joan C. It is with great sadness that her daughters announce her passing April 14, 2017. She was the daughter of Clara and Thor Nelson. Joan was of the Lutheran faith. She is predeceased by her husband, Edward David McConnell. Joan leaves behind two daughters, Claire (Chuck) Burns and Gail (Mike) Olson-Abrams; five grandchildren, Cara (Scott) Hodson, Quinn (Brandi) McConnell, Charles (Andrea) Olson, Cristen (Nick) Burns, and Chad (Danielle) Olson; and nine great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Nico, Dylan, Carter, Evan, Cash, Aliyah, Kaylynn, and Rylee. Joan left to be with her husband of 58 years, Skee, to dance to their favorite song, “True Love.” She was a beautiful person inside and out, that could only see the good in all people and made friends easily. She loved her family and doggies dearly. Joan will remain an inspiration to all she knew as she was an amazing mom, wife, friend, and hero; she will be missed immeasurably. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, Senior Pets, Pinellas County.
