John Charles Szoke, Jr., 67 of Largo, Florida passed away March 5, 2016 at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. He was born in Allentown, PA on October 1, 1948 to parents, John and Doris Szoke. As a graduate from the Culinary Institute of America, he worked at Siple’s Garden Seat Restaurant and was married there on February 16, 1974 to Susan. He then worked for Century 21 for 6-8 years as a real estate broker. He also worked for Duke Energy for 27 years from January 1987 to January 2014. John enjoyed gardening, to include owning an extensive collection of Orchids and a wide variety of tropical plants and flowers and fish. He also enjoyed different parts of landscaping projects. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan and their sons, Shawn, Michael and Christian, his mother, Doris and brothers, Lawrence and Jeffrey. A Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Largo, FL with a reception to follow. Serenity Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
