Josie moved to Largo in 1978 from her hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Before retirement, she was the co-owner with her son, James, of Crafts Unlimited. Josie loved doing ceramics. She was a member of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, and she also served as a prior President of her Condominium Association. Her favorite pastimes were reading and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, to whom she was happily married to for 61 years.
Josephine is survived by her children, Alan Ebbert, Sandra (James) Hanna, and James Ebbert, all of Largo; her grandchildren, Matthew (Chelsie) Hanna, Layton Utah, and Kimberly Gipson, Largo; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Carter Hanna, Taelynn and Callan Gipson, and Baisley Spaeth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org/givehope.
A visitation will be held on February 25, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Serenity Funeral Home, 13401 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL 33774.
The funeral service will follow from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL 33774.
