Joy S. Estes, 75, of Seminole, Florida, passed away on September 7, 2023. She was born in Jacksonville, FL, to loving parents Floyd and Geraldine McCallum. She earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Carson Newman College as well as a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Florida. She retired from teaching after 22 years at Bauder Elementary where she was named Educator of the Year. In 2001, Joy and her business partner opened Events, a card and gift boutique. Joy served over 30 years in the All Children's Hospital Guild, as well was, a member of 100 Women Who Care and an avid supporter of the Esther Street Project. She is preceded in death by her daughter Shannon Kay Estes.
She is survived by husband Bob Estes, sisters Elaine Krauza and Kay Sikes, son and daughter-in-law Corey and Stephanie Estes, daughter and son-in-law Kristi and Cassius Peacock, and her four grandchildren Reilley, Max, Colby, and Millie.
The funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on September 30, 2023, at Anona United Methodist Church, 13233 Indian Rocks Road, Largo, FL, with a reception following at Cove Cay Golf Club, 2612 Cove Cay Drive, Clearwater, FL.
