Judy was a fourth-generation Pinellas County native, growing up in the Indian Rocks Beach-Anona-Largo area and graduating from Largo High School in 1956. She was a Florida girl through and through and never saw the point of living anywhere but "paradise," as she put it. She worked for various insurance companies, ending up her career as an inside claims adjuster for Auto Owners.
Judy loved life with an exuberance and a vivacity that was a joy to be around. She loved Rays baseball, her home with Don in Wimauma, and her family -- not necessarily in that order. She is survived by her wonderful husband of almost 38 years, Donald Soles, who cared for her with a compassionate and tender devotion during the long months of her final illnesses, her daughter Sharon Herbitter of Prattville, Alabama, her son David Ewell of Wimauma, Florida, her grandson Alexander Herbitter of Horseheads, New York, her son-in-law Bruce Herbitter, her granddaughter-in-law, Alisha Herbitter, her great-grandson Kael Herbitter, her sister Elizabeth Henry, and many nieces, nephews, stepchildren, and their assorted offspring.
Her memorial service will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28th, at 1:00. The address is 13401 Indian Rocks Road in Largo -- just a tiny bit north of Anona Methodist Church.
We will miss her more than words can say.
