June was born in St. Paul, MN on March 15, 1922 to the late Floyd
and Ethel (Mossbruger) Skooglun. After June married Robert P.
Ferguson on October 08, 1947, and they spent many years living in
places where Robert was stationed in the Navy, such as, California,
Alaska, Hawaii and Illinois. They retired to Seminole in 1975 from
Freeport, IL. Through the years June spent time working as a Dental
Assistant and Doctor's Assistant as well as raising four children.
In November of 2003 June moved to Eastlake, FL to live with her
grandsons, Ron Barnes and AL Dimmer, and in 2004 they settled in
Trinity, FL. Through the last several years June dealt with Alzheimer's,
but still maintained a very active life going wherever her boys went.
June is also a former member of the American Legion, Post 273 of
Madeira Beach, FL. June was preceded in death by her husband
Robert P. Ferguson, son Robert P. Ferguson II and daughter Beverly
Ann Barnes. June is survived by her loving grandsons Ron Barnes and
AL Dimmer of Trinity, FL, granddaughters Susan Acosta of Fish Hawk,
FL and Joani Bardell (Brian) of Freeport, IL, daughter Patricia Lenz (Tim)
of Bradenton, FL, son Timothy Ferguson (Kelly) of Largo, FL, former
daughter-in-law Jeanne Ferguson Nielsen of Racine, WI, grandsons
Scott Lenz of FL and Nicholas "Nick" Ferguson of Janesville, WI, grand-
daughters Melissa Waugh (Jon) of Norcross, GA, Kristine Kobylus (Robert)
of Watkinsville, GA, Megan A. Ferguson of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Danielle
Ferguson of Largo, FL, great granddaughter Shannon Acosta of Fish Hawk,
FL, great grandsons Shaun Acosta of Fish Hawk, FL, Manuel "KiKe" Acosta
of Riverview, FL, Christopher Bardell of Wheaton, IL, Parker and Griffin
Waugh of Norcross, GA and Reese Kobylus of Watkinsville, GA.
A celebration of June's life will be held on Friday Jan 24, 2014 at
Moss Feaster Largo. Visitation will be from 11:30am - 1:30pm, with
a Prayer Service at 1:30 pm. A Burial Service will follow at 2:30pm in
the"Gate of Heaven" section of Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
